As part of their recently launched “Choir is Community” Annual Fund, the Santa Clara Chorale announces the streaming premiere of Four Principles of Marriage, a multi-movement setting of texts from the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges Supreme Court decision that upheld same-sex marriage protections. Having celebrated its world premiere in May 2023 as part of the Chorale’s 60th anniversary season, Four Principles was conceived, composed, and conducted by Artistic Director Scot Hanna-Weir, and the piece enjoyed a sold-out world premiere performance at the Mission Santa Clara in collaboration with San José Chamber Orchestra and Santa Clara University Choirs. The streaming premiere will feature the video recording from this premiere performance.
The streaming premiere will take place on the Chorale’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00PM Pacific. Join us for the virtual release party as we celebrate the universality of love and the power of music!
